In the 1930’s Armando Flocchini Sr., purchased the Durham Meat Company in San Francisco where he worked as a butcher. In 1965 he purchased a 55,000 acre bison ranch near Wright, Wyoming and renamed it Durham Ranch. In 1985 Durham Meats purchased Sierra Meat & Seafood in Reno Nevada.
Today Durham Ranch is rated one of the best ranches in the United States for the quality of its products and high standards in raising bison. The ranch comprises 55,000 acres of land where the original bison were sourced directly from Yellowstone National Park, making this herd and land very unique and special.
The Durham Ranch name is one that represents far more than a beautiful stretch of land in northeast Wyoming. The name represents family. From Armando the butcher, to his two sons and their six children and even two great grandchildren who are following in his footsteps, committing to provide the highest quality products and experience to our customers.
Consumers today care about where their food comes from. Chefs and retailers are being rewarded by consumers for featuring meat that is natural and that has been sustainably raised.
The Durham Ranch Brand is answering the call with an extensive line of specialty meat cared for by families on small farms and ranches and by Mother Nature in the wild.

The vast majority of our genetics are found to be from the Fort Niobrara Nebraska, National Bison Range Montana, Wind Cave National Park South Dakota, with the recent addition of bulls with Yellowstone genetics.
